Close to 6,000 voters vote by mail in Clay County | News

CLAY COUNTY, Fla. -- Nearly 6,000 absentee ballots have been sent out to voters by the Clay County Supervisor of Elections Office.

The elections office has mailed 5,900 mail, or absentee, ballots to domestic civilian voters. In addition to the domestic ballots, more than 800 mail ballots were sent to overseas and military voters last week, the supervisor's office said in a release.

Mail ballots are required to be sent out 35 to 28 days prior to an election.

The Clay County Supervisor of Elections office must receive absentee ballots by 7 p.m. on election day.

If you are voting by absentee ballot, you must be sure to sign the voter certificate on the outer envelope of the mail ballot. In order for your ballot to count, you must sign the voter certificate.

You can update your signature by completing a Florida voter registration form. Registration forms may be obtained by visiting the Clay County Supervisor of Elections website and at many government offices in Clay County.
