FHP looking for driver who caused fatal crash | News

GREEN COVE SPRINGS, Fla. -- The Florida Highway Patrol is looking for any witnesses who may have seen a crash early Thursday morning near on Russell Road south of Watkins Road.

At 5:20 a.m. Thursday morning, 52-year-old Patsy Ralph Simeoli of Middleburg was traveling southbound on Russell Road (County Road 209) south of Watkins Road, according to a crash report from FHP.

Witnesses told investigators that a passenger vehicle traveling north on Russell Road drove into Simeoli's lane, forcing him to take evasive action.

Simeoli's 2003 Honda Accord went onto the west shoulder of the road and struck a tree.

Simeoli, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken to Orange Park Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.
